down to 9

so the idol is going ok... i have to admit this isn't the best season. most of the singers are boring, you know most of them will never be "stars", and only 2 have stood out really for me... though there are 3 clear front runners from the judges' perspective (danny, adam, lil), mine are others...

Adam and Allison are my favs. Adam is doing great week after week... his "theatrics" have toned down and actually helped him succeed and go over the rest. and Allison's rock edge to her performances is what draws me to her, that and she can really rock the mic!

my other 2 favs are Danny and Matt, though after this week Danny has fallen for me, I finally put it who he sounds like... Michael Bolton!!! and I really don't like that! I'm sure he's one to be famous after this whole show, but he's more of a classic adult contemporary type... top 40 types are clearly Allison, Adam and Matt. And this show is all about either Top 40 or country, and the only one that could go country from this season has just been axed, (don't really think he'd do good there, but anyway).

So yea... mr. front runner Danny Gokey has fallen in my eyes... he's a good singer, just not my type of good singer. Go Adam & Allison!!!

(and just because if i talk about Idol and he's still in it)... Anoop? really??? get him OUT!!!

the battle of the galactic stars has ended

What a way to end a series... the characters had closure, their mission had closure, and they found eden, or as we call it "our Earth"...

Battlestar Galactica has to be heralded as one of the greatest series in tv history. Completely under appreciated, stuck in the "sci fi" genre and only recognized as great in it's last few half-seasons. But this show went all the way.

So they finally found Earth, at least a second one for them, one they could finally habitate, where neanderthals walk around mindless of their surroundings, in a terrain known to us as Africa. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

First they had to fight the cylons. Get hybrid child Hera back from evil #1. Find a truce between the humans and the cylons that involved giving them back resurrection. Killing instantly that truce by revealing to Tyrol that other final-5 Tori had in fact killed his wife, and therefore killing their chances of ever getting the resurrection thing working again. The killing of lots of humans (Racetrack!!!) and many many cylons (Cavil!!! yay!!!). And then, explosions, gunshots, running, screaming, Springsteen! and boom... the notes from 'all along the watchtower' lead the fleet to a new planet, full of life, nature. No civilization in sight, prehistoric men walking about killing gazelles, a new place to live, far away from any danger. The colonials settle in different parts of this world, send off their ships into the sun to be destroyed. They start a new dominion.

150,000 years pass. But it all has happend before. 2009. Robotics evolve. Are cylons coming to this new civilized world? It could
probably not happen again.

We'll see.

tv is getting boring

so I've completely given up on Heroes now for being so dull and pointless and stupid. But now I'm thinking of completely giving up on some other shows, perhaps not entirely but maybe I'll just wait 'til the season's over and then catch up and see if they're worth my time next year.

cases in point:

chuck. every week it gets more and more uninteresting. the game between chuck and sarah liking each other and all that is getting to a point where it's annoying that they don't just hook up already. and introducing new characters like this british MI6 guy into the mix isn't helping.

damages. i've fallen asleep in 2 out of 6 episodes already. i have to admit i haven't caught up with it, i just watched episode 6 last night (if you can call it "watched" cuz i fell asleep). this season isn't as intreaguing as the last one, it feels like they started it with the "baggage" of the ending of last season (helen going after patty with the FBI), but discarded that whole storyline by episode 2 when they found something better to do. then bringing that back in the mix just so they don't feel they abandoned a whole story from the get-go. I'll watch this whole season, but probably when it's all done and during the day hours so i don't fall asleep anymore.

ugly betty. probably the worst season to date. not funny, dull, pointless storylines. why have betty move out at the start of the season then have her move back in when she really didn't need to, then have them almost lose their home????? why????

grey's anatomy. don't even get me started with this one. bad, really really bad.

30 rock. it's the worst season to date too! not as funny as before, jack is getting way too cartoonish, salma hayek shouldn't have been on the show, let alone for like half the season! she's not funny! and out of all the super guest stars this year, only Oprah has been good, and that was back in october. and i DON'T LIKE Oprah!

desperate housewives. started off very good with the 5-year leap, but now it's back to what it was. meh! the conspiracies that go nowhere, the hate that turns into friendship an hour later or viceversa, the storylines left behind. beginning to turn pointless again.

and there are other ones that are good, ok, but haven't been great "apointment" tv, like lost, brothers & sisters, americal idol, how i met your mother, the office, survivor and the amazing race.

and where are my scrubs, samantha who? and gossip girl ? ? ? they've been m.i.a. for a long time now!

as of now, the only ones that i can truly say i can't wait to watch and are in the top of their game are battlestar galactica, big bang theory and top chef. that's only 3 shows! and one has finished it's season and another is about to end entirely! wtf tv?!?!?!

Anoop? Really?

How can people like Anoop??? Anoop!!! Just look at his cocky douche face every time he's on camera (not just on-stage), come ON people! He's so full of himself, you can tell he thinks he's the best thing out there or that he's fooling everybody, cuz it can't be anything else.

The best contestant out there right now is Allison Iraheta. I hate to paraphrase Paula, but, can you believe she's just 16 years old! She's the female rocker that this show needs to win! But since there's so many guys up there in the top 13 this time around, the odds aren't in her favor. My guy picks have to be Danny Gokey (who got a little overrated, but is still very good), andsa Adam Lambert (go San Diego!)

I can't vote, but GO ALLISON!

the oscars came and went

AND WE WON AN OSCAR!!! WOOHOO!!!

Anyways.... yea, we won! uh, yea!

other than that I haven't really seen that many movies... revolutionary road... it's ok, not great, but it's not American Beauty. changeling is good, intreaguing, i watched it during a blackout which made it more memorable, and gran torino is awesome! the story is great, the ending is somewhat predictable but truly inspiring, and made me think even more that i hate people who take advantage of their family members and just take them for granted.

oh, and nick & norah's infinite playlist is really good, i liked it a lot, it's funny when it needs to be, sweet when the moment needs it, and a fun ride through one night of looking for fluffy in NYC.
