the battle of the galactic stars has ended
What a way to end a series... the characters had closure, their mission had closure, and they found eden, or as we call it "our Earth"...
Battlestar Galactica has to be heralded as one of the greatest series in tv history. Completely under appreciated, stuck in the "sci fi" genre and only recognized as great in it's last few half-seasons. But this show went all the way.
So they finally found Earth, at least a second one for them, one they could finally habitate, where neanderthals walk around mindless of their surroundings, in a terrain known to us as Africa. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
First they had to fight the cylons. Get hybrid child Hera back from evil #1. Find a truce between the humans and the cylons that involved giving them back resurrection. Killing instantly that truce by revealing to Tyrol that other final-5 Tori had in fact killed his wife, and therefore killing their chances of ever getting the resurrection thing working again. The killing of lots of humans (Racetrack!!!) and many many cylons (Cavil!!! yay!!!). And then, explosions, gunshots, running, screaming, Springsteen! and boom... the notes from 'all along the watchtower' lead the fleet to a new planet, full of life, nature. No civilization in sight, prehistoric men walking about killing gazelles, a new place to live, far away from any danger. The colonials settle in different parts of this world, send off their ships into the sun to be destroyed. They start a new dominion.
150,000 years pass. But it all has happend before. 2009. Robotics evolve. Are cylons coming to this new civilized world? It could probably not happen again.
We'll see.
