so this is the look.... hmmm... i LIKE!!! i sure hope this looks carries throughout the whole film, especially the queen of heart's big ass head! hahahaha.... (i just think Johnny Depp's look is way too much, we'll have to wait for the acting to judge on that one)

up up and away

pixar continues to run away with the animation crown. Up is yet another marvelous foray into the 3D animation world, filled with great characters, wonderful sceneries and fantastic animation.

this is what i love about pixar, their devotion to character design and story and character development. it's amazing how you grow to love a giant bird without it uttering a word! this film is funny, witty, exciting, and a great film to start off pixar's full-on 3D experience.

i do have to say, my favorites are still ratatouille, finding nemo and the incredibles, but along with monster's inc. and wall-e, this one comes a close 4th in my pixar scale of awesomeness.

minor spoiler alert: this one has one of the saddest beginnings of any film, ever!

movie going weekend 2

so june's been a good month for going to the movies down here in good ol' mexico. though i techically went at the end of may last time.

this past weekend i went to see star trek... and that was a waaaay better movie-going experience than last time, i'll tell you that.

lots of great action, coherent storyline (even for people like me that doesn't really know the "star trek" universe), funny characters (especially Simon Pegg's Scotty). an overall entertaining 2 hours at the theater. really worth watching on the big screen, really worth watching again!

movie going weekend

saw Wolverine.
I understand why they were so scared about that infamous leak online. it's not that it wasn't finished, it was that IT SUCKED!!!!

saw Angels & Demons.
it was what i expected. Fun, thrilling, enjoyable. A good adaptation of a great book, that even the little changes they made in the story i liked very much. It's fun escapism, why try to kill it with bad reviews, people!
