Happy Gilmore
Finally, the television season is starting in other networks other than FOX, today was the WB's turn, with the return of "Gilmore Girls" with the answer to that spontaneous proposal and the fallout of Rory leaving Yale & living with the Grandparents.
First off, the answer to the proposal is not really a big surprise or a big deal throughout this Season Premiere, the most important part of all is the way Lorelai is dealing with losing her daughter and everybody in town butting into her life, with Luke, Rory, her parents, everybody. And it appears that not only Lorelai isn't dealing well with Rory leaving college, Paris is a wreak because she needs the competition to succeed, Logan (Rory's boyfriend) is betting that she'll return in less than a week, and the whole town of Stars Hollow is getting worried that she's in a jiff with her mom. All of this complemented with quirky situations of comedy here and there from the town's great supporting cast, from Kirk selling dead women's wedding rings, Taylor pissed at all the bicylcists from the race, Michelle feeling like a dog at Lorelai's house, to Babbette being on top, this is one way too funny show and am glad it's back.
Season Premiere Grade: A-
Other highlights of Tuesday Sept. 13, 2005:
A Review of the Season Premiere of HOUSE, M.D. will be posted soon after this one.
Big Brother 6: Ivette annoys me. Period. And... woohoo the blond bwitch is dead! Go Janelle!
Rock Star INXS: Marty rocks!!!, and MiG is clearly falling off the scale of greatness after Jordis last week. My top two are Marty & Suzie, if INXS wants a guy then Marty's their guy, he can really bring them into the 21st century with his great mixture of classic rock with new-rock and grunge that feels quite welcome for this era, his original song "Trees" really does feel like it could be on the radio right now; and if they want a girl, then they have no other choice either way, but they chose well by sticking with Suzie and her great rendition of 4 Non Blonde's "What's Up" truly attested to that, but i truly believe that she can make a big name for herself as a solo artist than Marty can, because a male rocker needs the support of a band (look at Chris Cornell, great with Soundgarden & Audioslave, not great as a solo artist), but female rockers tend to do great on their own (Alanis Morissette, Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge). We'll see what INXS decides in the finale next week, because even J.D. can surprise, after being constantly good, although cocky at times, as opposed to MiG's fallouts lately.
